Olympic Ambitions for Zoey

Zoey

A simple summer camp activity has spun into Olympic ambition for Junior Girl Scout Zoey Buntjer. Two summers ago Zoey discovered archery during her first Camp Foxtail adventure. Now at 10 years old, and with several Girl Scout archery programs under her belt, Zoey has taken up private lessons. Attending weekly lessons, Zoey is on the fast track to meeting requirements to begin competitive archery tournaments.

"I am so glad that Girl Scouts got me started on this great sport, and I cannot wait to go to the Olympics," she said.

Camp is the ultimate self-esteem builder where kids discover the "I Can Do Anything!" attitude. Zoey is true inspiration to that phrase - she set a goal and put her Olympic dreams into action. Zoey is just one of more than 500 girls who will discover their own abilities and enjoy the summer fun of being a kid!

Journey: Justice

Justice. That's your call to action on this journey - and maybe throughout your life. Artist, entrepreneur, corporate executive, public official, scientist - no matter what role you choose, you will have opportunities to strive for justice.

So how do you define justice? And how does your definition shape who you are and how you feel about what happens on Earth?

Once you define justice, you can strive for it - and inspire others to strive for it, too.

SCUBA Scouts

More than 20 Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts came together in June to learn all about the exciting sport of SCUBA diving! The girls worked with a certified scuba instructor to gain the basics in underwater diving. The best part, they got to simulate a real dive in the Sport Chalet pool!  Girls also experimented with underwater photography and games.
