Olympic Ambitions for Zoey

ZoeyA simple summer camp activity has spun into Olympic ambition for Junior Girl Scout Zoey Buntjer. Two summers ago Zoey discovered archery during her first Camp Foxtail adventure. Now at 10 years old, and with several Girl Scout archery programs under her belt, Zoey has taken up private lessons. Attending weekly lessons, Zoey is on the fast track to meeting requirements to begin competitive archery tournaments.

"I am so glad that Girl Scouts got me started on this great sport, and I cannot wait to go to the Olympics," she said.

Camp is the ultimate self-esteem builder where kids discover the "I Can Do Anything!" attitude. Zoey is true inspiration to that phrase - she set a goal and put her Olympic dreams into action. Zoey is just one of more than 500 girls who will discover their own abilities and enjoy the summer fun of being a kid!

Skill Building Badge: My Best Self

We only get one body, so it's important to take care of it! Learn to pay attention to what your body needs and how to ask for health help if you need it - so you can keep yourself feeling great.

The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting can help you on your way to being your best self by following these five steps:

  1. Get to know your body
  2. Eat and play in a healthy way
  3. Find out how your body works
  4. Know what to do if something bugs you
  5. Meet a health helper

Each step of the way you need to complete one of three activities. When you have earned this badge, you'll know how to keep yourself healthy and happy. Get started on My Best Self badge today - refer to your Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for complete instructions and activities.

Pin Pals

August 11

Let's go bowling! Through Pin Pals girls will earn the Fair Play badge as they meet new friends and discover the ins and outs of traditional bowling. But, before girls take to the lanes to show off their best strikes, they will participate in team building activities. The fun will continue as girls get silly by creating a bowling game with their own rules!
