Girl Scout Silver Award Brings Awareness to Victims of Violence
Chasey Danser, Piper Wagoner and Natalie Wainscott
On Saturday, June 2, Girl Scout Cadettes: Chasey, Piper, and Natalie commemorated the conclusion of their Silver Award project with a tree dedication at Floyd Lamb State Park. Their project, "Don't Forget Us," brought awareness to victims of violence through the distribution of informational flyers and the creation of a website dontforgetusgs.webs.com.
The girls were moved to take action after a 15 year-old girl in their neighborhood was brutally murdered. In addition to the tree, the girls placed a plaque in a rock garden filled with inspirational messages - all to honor the victims of violence and their families.
