Ever wonder where the money you spend on Girl Scout Cookies goes?
Jania Johnson, is one of several Southern Nevada Girl Scouts featured in our cookie advertising this year. Real girls, with real stories on how Girl Scouts is enriching their lives.
Jania is ten years old and participates in Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada's Outreach Drop In Center Program. As a baby, Jania was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia, a disease that often leaves her very tired and in pain. And still, Jania dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up - she wants to help others that suffer from her disease.
At the Girl Scout drop in center, Jania participates in Girl Scout Healthy Living and STEM programs. This past year, Jania and her friends built and programmed Lego Robots and participated in a local LEGO FIRST competition. They also kept silk worms at their center and learned how silk came from the silk worma and eventually became a shirt. Jania may not realize it, but the programs she participates in at Girl Scout drop in centers are providing her the building blocks to realizing her dream of becoming a doctor. Jania just thinks its tons of fun!
Your support makes opportunities like this a reality for all girls! Thank you for supporting Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada!

Celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouts!
Alumnae and volunteers you are invited to join Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada for a symbolical bridging across Hoover Dam as we honor the past and welcome the next century of Girl Scouting. Rock the Dam, commemorates the historical beginnings of Girl Scouts in Southern Nevada by gathering where it all started in 1932 with 22 girls in Boulder City.
This is a wonderful opportunity for alumnae to reconnect with Girl Scouts and discover how girls in Southern Nevada are making the world a better place.
