Daisy Leaf: Count It Up - It's Your Business - Run It!

When you take part in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, you are helping with the largest business run by girls in the whole world. When you earn the Money Counts leaf, you learn about how much coins and bills are worth. Now use what you know as you ask customers to buy your cookies!

To earn your Count It Up badge, you must do all three activities:
  1. Find out what cookies cost
  2. Learn about different kinds of cookies
  3. Set a sales goal
To get started on your Count It Up Leaf, refer to your Daisy, Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for a complete list of activities. You must complete one activity from all three areas.

Need help finding the answers? Click here to get started.

When you've earned this leaf, you'll know how your cookie money adds up!

Say it with Sign

February 7, 2012

Come together with your sister Girl Scouts to learn a new language! Girls will experience the art of American Sign Language the best way possible: hands on with a certified ASL Interpreter. Daisies will interact by signing parts of a story while it is being told.

2012 is the Year of the Girl
In a move designed to focus national attention on girls and the issues they face, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has declared 2012 the Year of the Girl: a celebration of girls, recognition of their leadership potential, and a commitment to creating a coalition of like-minded organizations and individuals in support of balanced leadership in the workplace and in communities across the country.

During the Year of the Girl, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada will mix celebrations of the organization's 100 years as the preeminent leadership experience for girls with efforts to create a sense of urgency around girls' issues.

Here are some of the 100th anniversary celebrations you and your Daisy Girl Scout can look forward to:

  • March 10 - 100th Anniversary Hoover Dam Bridging
  • March 20 - Alumnae/Volunteer Event - Ladies Night with the Las Vegas Wranglers
  • May 18 - Girl Scout Night with the Las Vegas 51's
  • December 2012 - Girl Scout Night with the Las Vegas Wranglers
