Girl Scouts Journey to India
What will you do this summer? Seventeen Girl Scouts are gaining independence as they journey to India. The international adventure departed July 6, but not without some local hospitality from Comedy-Magician Mac King and Sumita Beauty.
First stop: a visit to the Mac King Comedy Magic Show at Harrah's where King presented the girls with plaid suitcases full of books. On behalf of King's Magical Literacy Tour, the girls will spread the love of reading to impoverished youth in India.
Next up: Sumita Beauty where the girls received glitter mehndi, henna and eyebrow threading. Anamika Tara, partner to CEO Sumita Batra, also taught the girls about traditional henna tattoos, eyebrow threading and the history of mehndi within the Indian culture.

And finally: the girls boarded their plane to India, where they are visiting the cities of Mumbai, New Delhi, Jaipur and Pune. Along with the Taj Mahal and the many sites and adventures they will experience, the girls will spend time at the Girl Scout Sangam World Centre. They will work on projects helping women and children from with the organizations Deep Griha, Green Tara Foundation and Maher.
