Greetings!

In less than a week, exciting venues all over the Bay Area will begin qualifiers for the NCSDC.  Each venue will offer Jack and Jill competition in Newcomer, Novice and Open divisions.

Newcomer - Never competed in a sanctioned event
Novice - Same as WSDC rules
Open - All other levels except All Star & Champions
The first place couple in each division will qualify for the finals to be held on May 3rd at Kodiak Jacks in Petaluma.

We hope you join in the fun at all the venues and especially at the finals where we will have lots of dancing, pro-am, lots of dancing, workshops from some of the best instructors in the nation, lots of dancing, a last chance qualifier, lots of dancing, the Top Dog Derby, and you guessed it, lot's of dancing.

There is something for every west coast swing lover at every level at the Northern California Swing Dance Challenge.

Read on for specifics about qualifiers, workshops and how you can purchase your V.I.P. pass to the Finals.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

Yvonne Benavidez

NCSDC - What is it?

Our Mission
The NCSDC is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of WCS in Northern California.
Our Goal
Our purpose is to expand our 4th annual NCSDC to include other important teachers and their communities providing a series of contests in a friendly and supportive environment for newcomers and novice dancers to experience Jack n Jill competitions. Collectively, we are offering a convention style atmosphere in a non-intimidating setting.
Our Plan
We will run qualifying events at several venues for two weeks preceding the finals around the Bay area and Sacramento with the finals contest held in Petaluma, CA. At the Finals contest we will offer all day workshops, multiple levels of competitions, and open dancing. We will hopefully inspire competitiors to go on to enter large scale competitions ensuring the future of WCS by growing the population of competitive dancers in Northern California.

What division do I enter?

nov08 Novice Champs 08'

Newcomer:  Has never competed in a NASDE or WSDC event in any division.
Novice: Same as WSDC qualifying criteria
Open: All other levels other than All-stars and  Champions
Top Dog: (At Finals Only) All-Stars and Champions
$1000.00 cash plus prizes

Each venue will host 2 qualifying events (except 2lf, which will only run one).  The winner of each division will go on to the finals and the second place will be listed as an Alternate finalist.

Contest Entry is $10.00

To enter the last chance qualifier,  competitors must also purchase a V.I.P. pass or at minimum, an evening dance ticket $15.00

You do not need to be a competitor to attend the finals....it is a day with something for everyone.
