The government is to invest £30m in a new fund that will build the capacity of infrastructure organisations that support frontline civil society groups in England, it announced today in the Giving White Paper.

A survey into the financial management of 64 charities with an annual income over £1m has found that those charities have reduced their ethical and socially responsible investments from one third to one fifth.

Ethical and social bank Triodos has attributed an 18.5 per cent growth in lending to a rise in demand from the social sector.
