Following the announcement of their intention to merge, the trustees of York and District Mind and Our Celebration have announced the appointment of David Smith as CEO of the new organisation which will be renamed under the Mind brand following the merger in April.

Guy's and St Thomas' Charity, has appointed David Renton as its finance and development director. He joins from independent corporate finance firm Hawkpoint Partners, where he was a managing director.

Marie Curie has appointed former group chief executive of Barclays bank John Varley as its new chairman.



Andrew Hind

Cass Business School

Former Charity Commission CEO, Andrew Hind, has been appointed visiting professor of charity governance and finance at Cass Business School. And Professor Stephen Lee has been appointed as course leader for post-graduate diplomas in charity marketing and fundraising.

Andrew, who is currently guest editor of Charity Finance magazine, has also been appointed to chair an independent advisory panel set up to advise the government as British Waterways makes the transition from public corporation to charitable body.
