Greetings!

Nick Hurd is busy at a social investment seminar today, advising that the government has attempted to steer the Charity Commission to change its investment guidance to allow for greater social investment opportunities. He's also taken the time to 'clarify' Tim Loughton's comments that the Big Society Bank's funds would be focused on youth projects. Not strictly true, it would seem.

The government has given the Charity Commission a "very clear steer" that it must change its investment guidance to give charities more leeway to invest in products that offer social as well as financial returns, minister for civil society Nick Hurd said today.
