Javed Khan is the new chief executive of Victim Support. He moves from the London Serious Youth Violence Board where he was also chief executive.

Steve Scown is to replace David Wolverson as chief executive of autism support charity Dimensions when David steps down in March next year after ten years in the role.

Plan International

Mark Powell

Diverse Abilities Plus

Mark Powell has been promoted from director of operations to CEO of Diverse Abilities Plus, a local charity that provides lifetime support to children and adults with varying disabilities across Dorset. He takes over from Paul Barnard who steps down after 11 years in the post.

Sheila Bailey

Ireland Fund of Great Britain

The Ireland Fund of Great Britain has appointed Sheila Bailey as executive director after four years as director of fundraising and communications at Apostleship of the Sea. Sheila can be contacted directly at sbailey@irlfunds.org.
Gareth Davies

Office for Civil Society

The Cabinet Office has appointed its director of strategy, Gareth Davies, as the new head of the Office for Civil Society. He will run the two units as they are combined to drive the Big Society agenda.



The Soil Association

The Soil Association has appointed Helen Browning as its new director. She takes over from Patrick Holden who stood down in September this year following 15 years in the role. Helen will take up the post in early spring.

Ann Sanders has taken the role of Capacitybuilders' chief operating officer to see it through to closure at the end of March 2011.

The National Autistic Society has made two key appointments. Alastair Graham has become director of fundraising and marketing while Emma Whitcombe has become director of senior relationships, with responsibility for its work with major donors, trusts and corporates.

Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland

Vanessa Rhazali has been appointed as head of individual giving at Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.

Fiona Ellis

Nationwide Foundation

Fiona Ellis, former director of the Northern Rock Foundation, has been appointed as trustee of the Nationwide Foundation.
Elizabeth Kennedy

Surrey Community Development Trust

Retired businesswoman Elizabeth Kennedy has been appointed chair of housing and support charity Surrey Community Development Trust. She succeeds the previous chair, Colin Selvin, who remains on the board as vice chair.

Northern Ireland Charity Tribunal

Members of the new Charity Tribunal for Northern Ireland, which will oversee appeals and decisions by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, have been named by the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission.

The seven members are as follows:
  • Damien McMahon will become president of the Tribunal and is Derry City's solicitor
  • Adrian Colmer is a barrister
  • Maura McCallion is a solicitor with the Law Centre
  • Paul Artherton is a fundraising consultant
  • Dr Theresa Donaldson is director of policy at the NI Legal Service Commission
  • Delia van der Lenden is a management consultant
  • Professor Arthur Williamson is a director and trustee of several private and voluntary sector organisations
