HftHft, the national charity for people with learning disabilities and their families, has appointed Robert Longley-Cook as its new chief executive. Robert will take over from the charity's existing chief executive, Brian Perowne, who retires from Hft in January 2011.

Absolute Return for Kids
Ian Wace, founder of London-based hedge fund firm Marshall Wace LLP, is the new chair of Absolute Return for Kids (ARK), the charity started by fellow money manager Arpad Busson. Wace will replace Stanley Fink, chief executive officer of International Standard Asset Management and former head of London-based Man Group who will remain as a trustee.
