Chris Askew, director of fundraising at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, has been promoted to chief executive of the research and campaigning charity.
Barbara Young

Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK has appointed Baroness Barbara Young as its chief executive. Young has held CEO roles at the Environment Agency and RSPB. Most recently she was chair of the Care Quality Commission.
Carole Easton

Changing Faces

Dr Carole Easton has been appointed as deputy CEO of Changing Faces, with effect from 13 September, 2010. Carole has been CEO of CLIC Sargent, ChildLine and Cruse Bereavement Care. Her new contact details are: carolee@changingfaces.org.uk, 0845 4500 275.

Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Matthew Reed has been recruited as the new chief executive of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust following the retirement of Rosie Barnes in August.

Social Traders CIC has appointed Bob Northey as managing director to lead the South West-based social enterprise dedicated to promoting trade for social purpose. ResPublica

The chief executive of civil society infrastructure body Capacitybuilders is to leave the organisation at the end of this month to join think-tank ResPublica. Matt Leach will take on the role of associate director and head of health, housing and environmental policy research at the think-tank.

ADD International

Tim Wainwright has been recruited to fill the post of chief executive on an interim, nine to 12-month basis, while a permanent successor to Jill Flynn is sought.

The Social Enterprise Coalition has enlisted Celia Richardson as its director of communications and policy. In 2008 and 2009 she was named one of the most powerful people in PR by b2b publication PRWeek. International Rescue Committee

Dr Toby Ganley

PFRA

The PFRA has appointed Dr Toby Ganley as its new head of policy. Toby joins PFRA from the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, where he was a policy officer providing secretariat services for the Funding Commission.

Yorkhill Children's Foundation

David Bainbridge has been appointed international director of Tearfund, having been promoted to the role from disaster management director.

Breast Cancer Care

Graham Galvin has joined Breast Cancer Care as director of finance and resources. He was previously director of corporate services at Volunteering England.

Samantha Morris

Mencap

Sir Richard Sykes, a former chairman of GlaxoSmithKline, has become chair of the Royal Institution.

Gareth Mostyn, head of corporate finance at Anglo American, has been appointed treasurer at SeeAbility taking over from David Hopkins.

Order of St John
