Greetings!

As Pakistan suffers immeasurably from its worst flooding in decades, civil society organisations in the UK swiftly gush aid to ease the suffering with several launching appeals, most notably the DEC. At home a potential blockade to donations has been lifted by O2 which joins Vodafone as the second phone provider to offer free text donations, paving the way for an industry-wide shift. But the move will act as just a small plaster on the ever-widening wound created by voluntary sector cuts which are hard-felt, according to the opinion polls.
