This edition of Governance eNews contains advice on committee structures and disaster planning, and highlights the winners of the Charity Awards 2010. It also sees Governance editor Dorothy Dalton calling for the Charity Commission to start charging a fee for processing annual returns and registering new charities, in order that it can continue to provide other valuable services despite public spending cuts.

Insolvent refugee charity fails in High Court bid for interim relief

A High Court judge yesterday refused to order the Legal Services Commission to pay £600,000 to ensure that clients formerly represented by Refugee and Migrant Justice can continue to be represented by the charity's staff until their cases are transferred to other law firms.
