Christmas, then, is not a dream, a moment of escapism. Christmas is the reality, which shows up the rest of "reality." And for Christmas, here, read Christianity. Either Jesus is the Lord of the world, and all reality makes sense in his light, or he is dangerously irrelevant to the problems and possibilities of today's world. There is no middle ground. Either Jesus was, and is, the Word of God, or he, and the stories Christians tell about him, are lies.-- N.T. Wright, For All God's Worth

Whose Journey is This?
Does the Christian story only apply to a select group of people? Or does the proposal that "Christ came into our world" need to be viewed like in the quote above by Wright: all or nothing.
We examine this from one of the New Testament's own descriptions of the family that bore the baby Jesus and traveled about the Middle East in order to keep him alive. On a broad scale: how would things have been different if they would have failed?
