| City Life's Winter Party is This Thursday! | | Thursday, December 9 6:30pm at 2719 K Street
It's time for our annual Winter Party again! This year we're going to have a great time with the Western Lights Band providing some great bluegrass music.
Please bring a potluck dish to share. If your last name starts with A-H, bring an appetizer or side, I-S bring a main dish and T-Z bring a dessert. We'll have beer from Rubicon Brewing along with wine and other drinks.
All are invited to celebrate with us, so feel free to invite a friend or relative. And don't miss out on playing our beverage exchange game, where you can unwrap someone else's favorite beverage in exchange for yours!
P.S. Want to help set up tomorrow before the party? Show up at 5:30pm and Sara will put you to work! Thanks!

The very first thing I liked about Christianity, long before it ever occurred to me to go to church or say the creed or call myself a Christian, was the Incarnation, the idea that God lowered himself and became a man so that we could relate to Him better. In Christianity, God got to be both a distant and transcendent Father god, and a present and immanent Son god who walked among us. -- Lauren Winner, Girl Meets God

Advent: Recognizing Christ's Coming Isaiah 35:1-10, Matthew 11:2-13, 18-19
People do all sorts of things in the name of a god or religion. Different groups of Christians have contradicted one another throughout history with actions or public opinions they attached to belief in Jesus. Well, if Jesus would ever be a part of your life, how could you avoid being confused about what your life should then be like? In a sense, the questions is: Who is the real Jesus? It is comforting, on one level, to find that people were puzzled with who Jesus of Nazareth was even when they ran into him 2000 years ago. Do you think you have Jesus figured out? It may be beneficial to revisit the issue personally (and then often thereafter). City Life Church's worship services are a great place to explore the identity of Jesus, each and every week, from wherever you find yourself on the spiritual spectrum. City Life Church meets for worship @
The Eastern Star Building 2719 K Street Sacramento, CA 95816
Sunday at 10:30am (Coffee at 10:00am) We have nursery & story time for ages zero to six, and our worship services are done before noon.
