| City Life's Winter Party is This Thursday! | |
Thursday, December 9 6:30pm at 2719 K Street
It's time for our annual Winter Party again! This year we're going to have a great time with the Western Lights Band providing some great bluegrass music.
Please bring a potluck dish to share. Last names beginning with A-H are asked to bring an appetizer or side, I-S bring a main dish and T-Z bring a dessert. We'll have beer from theRubicon Brewing Company and wine and other drinks provided. To celebrate the spirit of giving, we will be having a beverage exchange for those that wish to participate.

The essence of the incarnation is that the Son of God entered our world, refusing to remain aloof from it. He also made it clear that he wanted his followers similarly to identify with the world. -- John R.W. Stott, The Incomparable Christ

Advent: How to Prepare for Christ's Coming Isaiah 11:1-10, Matthew 3:1-12
To dabble in the season of Advent is to open up the possibility for heaven meeting earth. Are we spinning through the universe alone? Or does another realm-perhaps more real and substantial than our own-touch down here in nearly imperceptible yet significant ways? Does heaven break into earth, so that something we are missing might be gained? And might there be a story to all of this that has some grand conclusion yet to come? What if?
Join City Life for our Advent services, each Sunday before Christmas.
