Friends of the Library Used Book Drop-off Day
The Friends of the Library will hold a used book donation drop-off day Saturday, January 14. Items can be dropped off in the Library's Community Room between 10:00a and 1:00p. Please note: There is a five box (or bag) limit. Call Lori Hosler at 248-674-7098 if your donation will exceed the limit. Items that are not accepted are:
- Encyclopedias over 10 years old
- Reader's Digest Condensed books
- Magazines
- Vinyl Records
- College Textbooks
- Musty/Moldy items
Used Book Sale
The Friends of the Library are holding a 3-day book sale in the Community Room at the Library.

- Saturday, FEB 4, 10:00a - 4:00p
- Sunday, FEB 5, 1:00p - 4:00p - Bag sale only, $5/bag

Children's Programs (ages 0-12)

Storytimes for Children ages 0-5
Weekly storytime sessions are offered on a drop-in basis. No registration required.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. We ask that parents and caregivers arrive at least five minutes before the start of storytime in order to pick up nametags for their children and get settled in. All storytimes take place in the Children's Craft Room.
Session I begins the week of January 24 - 26
*** Babytime (ages 6 mos.- 15 mos.)
Tuesdays - 10:00-10:30a
*** Toddlertime (ages 16 mos. to 23 mos.)
Wednesdays - 10:00-10:30a
*** Two-Year-Old Storytime

*** Three-Year-Old Storytime

*** Preschool Story and Craft Time (ages 4-5)

Lego Club
Students meet on the 4th Saturday of the month to create their own Lego structure. These will be displayed in the library until the next meeting. Then the students can make new structures. We have two class times in the morning for each meeting day. You can register for one of these sessions at the Children's Desk starting two weeks prior to the meeting date. Session times: 10:15a - 11:00a, OR 11:30a - 12:15p

GENEALOGY U
A series of free classes designed to prepare you to trace your FAMILY HISTORY. Genealogy 101, 102, 103, and 104 will provide you with the basic information necessary to trace your family's history. Special classes will focus on particular areas of research.
- All classes are from 9:30a - 1:00p
- Registration required at Adults' Reference desk or by phone, 248.618.7693
- You may attend any or all classes
- It is recommended (but not required) that you attend Genealogy 101 or have some experience before attending other classes.
Irvin Rabideau, B.S., M.A., M.S.L.S., A.B.D., the instructor, has been involved in genealogical research, teaching, lecturing, and publication for over 40 years.

... the Library's operating millage will expire in August of this year?
A committee will be forming this month to develop and manage the campaign in support of renewing the Library's operating millage.
Interested in helping out? Send your contact information to Joan Rogers, Library Director. Including areas of experience and interest will be helpful as well.
You will be included on the committee's contact list for notices of meetings, advice of fundraising projects for the campaign in which you can participate, information on other ways you can help with the campaign, and updates on its progress.

Book Memorials & Donations
|
|
Book memorials are a meaningful way of
remembering a person, a group, an occasion or a
milestone.
Donations are used to purchase books and other
materials or deposited in the Library's donations
account for future use.
Checks should be make payable to the
Waterford Township Public Library and will be
accepted by the Director.
NOTE: A partial income tax credit is allowed when
you donate to a qualifying Michigan public institution such as the Waterford Township Public Library.

There are a number of fundraising projects
sponsored by the Friends of the Library in addition to the Used Book Sales.
- December Used Book Sale proceeds, $1,713.50
- VG's Community Share program: turn in your
register receipts so that they can be turned into
cash
- Tote bags for sale at the Circulation Desk - Fresh stock - new color combination - polypropylene construction - $2 each.
- Royal Oak Recycling - White Lake location, 10320 Highland Road. Drop off recyclables and
instead of receiving cash designate the Friends of the
Waterford Library as recipient.
