Library Tip of the Month
|
|
Multiply the Benefits
As the year ends and tax season approaches here is a way to reduce your income taxes. Consider making a cash donation to the public library. Donations to public libraries in Michigan are eligible for a tax credit of 50% on donations up to $200 for an individual and up to $400 for couples filing joint returns. These donations are also eligible as charitable deductions on federal returns. Take the sting out of income taxes while helping support library services.

Library Quote of the Month
|
|
The best of my education has come from the public library... my tuition fee is a bus fare and once in a while, five cents a day for an overdue book. You don't need to know very much to start with, if you know the way to the public library.
~Lesley Conger

Book Memorials & Donations
|
|
Book memorials are a meaningful way of
remembering a person, a group, an occasion or a
milestone.
Donations are used to purchase books and other
materials or deposited in the Library's donations
account for future use.
Checks should be make payable to the
Waterford Township Public Library and will be
accepted by the Director.
NOTE: A partial income tax credit is allowed when
you
donate to a qualifying Michigan public institution such
as the Waterford Township Public Library.
Friends' Fundraising Projects

sponsored by the Friends of the Library beyond the

register receipts so that they can be turned into
cash
- Canvas Book Bags for sale at the Circulation Desk
at Main, featuring a drawing
of the Main Library
