Hello Again,
I hope you will takesome time to watch some of the AQHYA World Show. It is so much fun to watch these young people "give it all they've got" in their classes!
Congratulations to KATIE LISABETH and Cool to Be Zippin for finishing THIRD IN THE WORLD in Horsemanship!
Also, congratulations to KARA OLDFORD and I'm Shy but Deluxe for finishing SIXTH IN THE WORLD in Horsemanship! They were also recognized for winning the AQHYA ALL AROUND AWARD for 2008 and the AQHYA HIGH POINT AWARD for 2008 in Horsemanship. Kara received a $10,000 college scholarship from Markel Insurance for this!
I also noted while the top 10 placings were being called that the 8th place horse and the WORLD CHAMPION in Horsemanship were both from a breeder here in Georgia. I did a quick search and called Jan Mackenzie (Mackenzie Quarter Horses) in Sharpsburg, GA. It was delightful to hear her excitement as she, too, was watching the Horsemanship finals online. Her daughter, Heather, showed their now-broodmare many years ago at the AQHYA world show.
She was so excited to watch as horses from their farm finished so well!
Congratulations TEAM GEORGIA!
Western Riding preliminaries are tonight...so there'll be more to come!
