Thanks for your continued prayers for Pastor Simon Akpolu.
The news from Ghana continues to change. This morning I spoke with one of the doctors attending to Pastor Simon and now I think I am able to share with you a bit more information. Simon is a patient in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra -- which is reportedly the 3rd largest teaching hospital in all of Africa! This means he is now receiving the best available treatment. Here is what the doctor shared with me:
- Simon will NOT be having surgery on Monday morning. He is now awaiting a further review from the medical staff to gain approval for the surgery.
- The staff is waiting for some more swelling to decrease so the surgery will have a greater possibility of success.
- At this point Simon is resting comfortably and is receiving needed pain meds and food. (He was not receiving either of these from the hospital until Thursday.)
- The belief of the doctor is that both the hospital and Simon will be ready for surgery on Friday of this week.
Now you know all that I know! Please continue to pray for Simon and the entire GEM team in Ghana.
