My dear friend ...
"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the Gospel from the first day until now." --Philippians 1: 3-5
During our just-finished project in Ghana, I learned of a very special and URGENT financial need from our national director, Rev. Sammy Lartey. Please read prayerfully the appeal below. (This need must be funded by October 28, 2009)
It should be noted that for many years now, as GEM has developed our dental ministry in Ghana, we have seen the need for direct involvement from nationals in Ghana in this project. We have also learned the importance of having the addition of a Medical Doctor with us as we travel into these remote villages.
Sammy's son Paul, is nearing the end of his medical training at the University of Ghana Medical School, but needs our help in the completion process. (The letter below will explain this need.)
Once Paul graduates, he will become a regular part of our medical ministry team in Ghana and will help open more and more doors for the Gospel. Please read carefully his letter. |

Dearest In Christ, REQUEST FOR SPONSORSHIP
I am Paul Lartey a sixth year
medical student of the University Of Ghana Medical School and the son of
Reverend Sammy Lartey (National director of Global Evangelism Ministries,
Ghana). Part of the requirements for the completion of my sixth year is the
completion of an elective program in a foreign country (This helps students
from developing countries to be abreast with innovations of modern medicine).
In that light, I will be going on an elective program in
Poland (they offer the most affordable rates), starting from the 1st
of November this year. The problem however is my inability to secure the funds
needed for the trip. The total cost of the trip is $2660.00, with the breakdown
as follows; Travel Expenses:$1,550
Insurance:$110
Room and Board $1,000
Total $2,660 Unfortunately I have been able to
raise only $50.00. I am therefore making an appeal to all who read my letter to
help me to pay the rest of the money.
Personally I am the vice
president of the Christian medical fellowship (student group) in my school and
involved in Christian and medical outreaches to the rural parts of Ghana and as
such, my dream has always been to finish school and help in every way I can to
reach out to the people of those most deprived regions in Ghana.
