It's time to GO again!
ghanaman
In a matter of days our team will leave for a ministry project in Ghana, West Africa where we will potentially share the gospel with nearly 40,000 individuals who have never heard the clear message of Christ's love and salvation.

As you know, the economy has had an adverse impact on most people, and Global Evangelism Ministries is no different.  We stand in need of a great financial blessing from the Lord.

As I shared this need with our Ghana national director, Sammy Lartey, he immediately called his church, friends, and colleagues to action.  These dear saints gathered together, on bended knee, and began to ask God to do a work on our behalf.  In addition to this, brother Sammy has:
  • Called on people, world wide,to beseech God for the people of Ghana who need to hear the gospel.

  • Reduced the present budget request by 40% (this does not mean less ministry, it means more work, with fewer people).

  • Asked that the people receiving this newsletter to prayerfully make an additional sacrificial gift to this project.  Listen to his words to you ...
slartey"Dear beloved friends.  Even having never seen each other face-to-face, my heart is constantly touched by you and your love for me, and our work in Ghana.  We are a country that desperately needs to know Jesus Christ.  I know that presently the monies in  your pockets are greatly reduced, but still I believe I know that you have a compassionate and generous heart that loves Jesus and love the people that have yet to hear the gospel.  Without pressure, I pray that you will give, and thus empower us to go into the hinterlands of the dark land  of Ghana with the worthy message of Jesus, the only hope of the world. You are certainly my beloved family."  -- Sammy Lartey

This precious appeal from our dear brother in Ghana reveals the truest nature of our work in the gospel.  If you can help us with this need, please do so immediately.  You can contact us through our website or giving link above this article.

Thank you, in advance, for your continued prayerfully support.

"Bear one another's burdens, and
thus fulfill the law of Christ.
"

The scripture above is Galatians 6:2 and it is in the middle of Paul's instruction about how we are called to relate to a sinful Christian.  The admonition comes after he has reminded us that "even if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness ..." (Gal. 6:1a)  Certainly we will agree that this often is NOT our attitude or action when confronted with sinfulness inside the body of Christ.  Too often we are judgmental and harsh toward those who have fallen.

Please hear me clearly on this, we must NEVER condone or de-emphasis the sin, or the consequences of the sin, but we must always operate under grace toward the fallen person and allow God to use us as a tool for restoration, redemption, and possibly transformation.  After all, it might be that the person had never been truly redeemed.  Admit it, we have lost people in all of our churches!

I read this same verse of scripture to remind me that, as an evangelist, I bear the burdens of all those who have yet to hear the gospel.  Each time I preach, whether in America, Asia, Africa or anywhere else, I see a multitude of people for whom Jesus died, yet to respond to God's offer of salvation.  My heart is heavy over the lost condition of most of the world.

We have already mentioned in this newsletter the current financial need for the upcoming trip to Ghana.  I am scheduled to depart on September 21, but as of today we still have a nearly $8,000 shortfall for this ministry.  We need your help.

Our world, our nation, our state, our neighborhoods, and often our very families are spinning out of control.  My heart has never been as desperate as it is today to see a revival of biblical proportion.  Without the miracle of God's salvation we are all doomed!  With all my energy I will continue to share the gospel in faith and grace.

Thank you for your continued interest in what God is doing through the work of Global Evangelism Ministries.  Until Jesus comes, I remain

Yours, in the fulfilling of the Great Commission,

 Worth hearing again ...Spurgeon

In his commenting on Psalm 96 Charles Haddon Spurgeon wrote these words:

"It is to be feared that too often the name of the Lord Jesus has been dishonored among the heathen by the vices and cruelties of those who call themselves Christians; may this fact excite true believers to greater diligence in causing the gospel to be proclaimed as with a trumpet in
all quarters of the habitable globe."

Global Evangelism Ministries is committed to going where others refuse to go and with the  clear, compassionate, yet confrontational message of Jesus Christ.
