PROJECT HARVEST GHANA Update
|

"Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among the peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise..."1 Chronicles 16:23-25 NIV What an incredible project we have just completed in Ghana! God did far more than we even imagined. During our two weeks in Ghana we were involved in 87 different ministry venues where we witnessed 17,466 individuals indicate their decision to receive Jesus Christ into their lives. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
I want
to express my sincere appreciation to those dear people who joined me
on this project. If you know these people, please thank them for what
they accomplished in Ghana. Jeff Andler Craig Barker Mark
Chase Ruth Kandaras Dr. David Ney Andy Poe Sandi Ollila
These
all did an outstanding job in very difficult circumstances. Our national director, Rev. Samuel Lartey did an overwhelming job in the preparation for our team. From the moment we landed in Accra, his labors were evident. I cannot emphasize enough our indebtedness to Sammy for his work.
This year's project took us into deep and remote places that had never been touched by the gospel. This update from Sammy will help you see and hear what we did.
Here is an exact copy of Sammy's Project Report:
The strive is over, The Battle is Done. Now is the victory won by Christ demonstrated by committed GEM project 2009 team. Oh, let the song of praises be sang ... Hallelujah. I am a lost for words, sentences, and statements to elaborate in details what the team had to endure for the salvation of the over 17,000 souls won during this project.
To God be the glory as totally neglected villages of immotorable roads etc., were reached with the Gospel at great cost. Heavy rainstorms, insect bites, threats by scorpions, snakes, etc. were some of the many challenges the team had to endure for this great harvest.
DENTAL CLINICS:The dental clinics headed by Dr. David Ney contributed tremendously as many turned up to have their teeth extracted, had the opportunity to hear the gospel for the first time, giving their lives to Christ. Sisters Ruthie and Sandi did an outstanding job in their duties of assisting Dr. David. We are all looking forward to the next project where we will be able to further expand this vital part of our ministry outreach into the deepest parts of our country.
SCHOOL MINISTRY:There were so many village schools dotted all over the unreached villages, that the team had to break up into three (3) groups for each to do at least three (3) schools a day to ensure coverage or as many schools as possible. Thousands of school children heard the gospel for the first time and gave their lives to Christ. Each of these were given Bibles or New Testament.CINEMA CRUSADES AND NEED FOR AN ADDITIONAL LAND ROVER: The evening cinema crusade team had to break up into three (3) groups to cover the many small-communities of villages. This calls for an additional Land rover since the hired vans can't make it to some of these villages. Canoes were thus used at great risk to get to these villages beyond rivers.CONCLUSION:Untold thousands are still untold. Who will tell them of Jesus love and the heavenly mansions up waiting for them? The just ended project could be well dabbed as "Beyond the Great Commission". This calls for men whose hearts are on fire for the Lost. The team for this project which saw the great harvest of over 17,000 souls could be well called "Men after the Heart of God". And these are the men making GEM's dream of going where others will not dare go possible. To God be the Glory. Amen!Submitted byRev. S.A. LarteyGEMOG Director18/3/09
I really want to thank everyone for your prayers and financial support of this project. It has been incredible. There is no way we would have accomplished this project without your help. There will be far more information forthcoming once we get home. Thank-you and God bless you!

Upcoming Ministry to Vietnam
|
Global Evangelism ministries is facing one of the most exciting opportunities ever presented to us. On May 4th I will join in partnership with our friend and colleague, Jeff Andler, for a ministry project in Vietnam.
While this is our first ministry into southeast Asia, I am certainly excited about this opportunity. We will be leading in several pastors conferences, conducting village preaching/evangelism seminars, participating in baptismal services, and leading in an area-wide crusade in the central part of the country.
This ministry will give us the opportunity to invest back into the lives of many pastors and house-church leaders who are struggling under the communist leadership of the country. We will be traveling from Ho-Chi-Min City into the more remote areas of the country where the on-going work of the pastors and leaders is both difficult and challenging.
As mentioned before we are excited about this ministry but also want to share with you the huge financial cost involved with such a ministry. The cost for this ministry is $12,500 (which does NOT include the cost of my travel, lodging, meals, and incidentals.) This need will provide funding for:
- $4,500 = Training for 100 pastors in Saigon. $15 per person for three days, travel, food, and lodging.
- $6,000 = Training for 200 pastors in Vung Tau. $15 per person for two days, travel, food, and lodging.
- $2,000 = Bibles for distribution to those who make decisions for Christ during the project.
I trust you will begin now to pray for this exciting ministry in Vietnam. Please consider how you might financially support this critical ministry. You may certainly make a designated contribution to this need through our secure, online giving site or you can send your gift through the mail.
This project to Vietnam is just another example of how GEM fulfills our ministry to:Go into all the world and preach the Gospel!

GEM VIDEO PROJECT CONTINUES
|
When Pastor Roy Mason was serving as the student pastor of the New Hill Baptist Church (1980-1984) he had no idea of what God was about to do. As a member of the church youth groups, Andy Poe was a typical young person and active member of the church.
Andy, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Poe of Apex, was about to begin a life-journey and future ministry with his pastor, Roy. Andy shared with us during this most recent trip to Ghana that he was saved during a bible study that Roy was leading on the book of Revelation. "We studied was the end was going to be like," said Andy "and I decided that very day, that I needed Jesus in my life."
After completing his education at ASU in Boone, NC Andy began his work in several different television, radio, and film production companies. After several years of success, Andy more fully realized that God has something more meaningful in store for his life. Today he serves on the staff of Explore Church in the Greater Raleigh Area and has just completed his second ministry trip to Ghana with GEM.
"I want to help GEM share their incredible ministry with as many people as possible" quipped Andy recentlty. "I am hoping that we can produce a series of videos that will more clearly show people what we are doing around the world."
Working on the video has proved to be very hard work, especially for people who are unaccustomed to such tasks. On this most recent trip to Ghana there were several opportunities to shoot segments that will more clearly reveal what GEM is attempting to do in front line evangelism projects.
An introduction video has already been shot and can be viewed on GEM's website.
It is our prayer that the video projects we are currently working on will inform, inspire, introduce, and involve many more people in our ministry in many different places.
"Our prayer" said Dr. Roy Mason "is that God will provide a way for Andy to become a regular part of our ministry team. He is a talented videographer, but he is a gifted preacher and soul-winner. I never imagined that a person carrying a camera would open so many doors with so many people to hear the gospel. Andy certainly opened doors for our presentation of the gospel."

The Blessing of Faithfulness
|
People continually ask us, "How is GEM doing in the midst of the current economic state?" While I do not pretend to understand all that God is doing, I can honestly say that He has certainly proven faithful to us. While in Ghana, I began to think about all the blessings of God upon GEM. Let me share some of these thoughts with you ...
Since 2001 Global Evangelism Ministries has been witnessing God do some incredible things with us around the world. When we started we did not have any idea what God was going to be doing with us around the globe. We knew that God had called us to attempt great things around the world. We knew that He had called us to begin a faith ministry that conducted evangelistic projects in various countries, but we had no idea how to accomplish this.
After our first trip to Ghana, we learned the enormity of the task. We did not have any equipment for the ministry, nor did we have any people to help us with the task of working in a foreign land. We needed equipment, personnel, and so much more.
Since those humble beginnings, we are happy to report that God has proved Himself faithful over and over again. He has used people, like you, to help us get to where we are today. Here is just a partial list of what God has done with our ministry in the country of Ghana:
- Sammy Lartey serves as our full-time, salaried National Director. His total support comes from the gifts of GEM.
- We now have a network of over 30 pastors who are working with GEM in the ongoing work of our ministry.
- We have 17 pastors funded for the entire year. These men all serve in church that have been established by and through GEM.
- We have purchased and are using our Land Rover (even though now we are in need of an additional Land Rover because of the remote areas in which we are ministering.
- We have purchased all the A/V equipment that we are presently using for ministry. This includes, three sets of:
- Audio and sound equipment including amps, mics, speakers, stands, etc.
- Video and film equipment including LCD video projectors, 16mm film projectors, screens, films, and videos
- Generators, lights, cables, lines, etc. for providing power in the remote regions where we screen the JESUS film.
In addition to these mentioned things, because of the faithfulness of Dr. David Ney and his network of dentists and others we have, in Ghana, the necessary equipment to continue and increase our Dental projects. All the tools and instruments necessary for this ministry are now kept and stored in Ghana.
In the coming days we will continue to provide you with more details about Ghana and our other fields of ministry. I want to thank you for your willingness to help us remain focused on the faithfulness of God. With all my heart, I thank God for His incredible blessings. God is good! ALL THE TIME! |
