My dear friend,

Thank you for continuing to express your interest in Global Evangelism Ministries and our efforts around the world.

We are only a few days away from a ministry project in Ghana, West Africa.  Throughout this newsletter you will find important information about this project.

I trust you will continue to pray for us and consider how you might become more intimately involved in our ministry.  Thank you again for your faithful participation in the Gospel.  Until Jesus comes, I remain

Yours, in the fulfilling of the Great Commission,

DENTAL PROJECT EQUALS . . .
GREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVANGELISM
Dr. David Ney
For the second time in as many years, GEM will be conducting a field dental project in Ghana. The project dates are March 5-21, 2009.

Again this year Dr. David P. Ney of Davidson will be our on-site field dentist.  After our first dental project last year, Doc, as he is referred to in Ghana, responded to our on-going invitation by saying, "Without a doubt my days in Ghana were my best days all year.  I saw the hand of God moving mightily though our work. For the first time ever I was doing missions rather than just talking about missions. I watched everyone involved with GEM display their passion and commitment of going where others refuse to go.  I hope that other dentists and doctors will join us on projects in the future."

David brings the perfect blend of professional skill and personal evangelism to our projects.  "I have never met a medical professional who was so perfectly made for our type of ministry", said Dr. Roy Mason.  "David is a man of incredible talent whose heart for personal evangelism inspires those around him.  We are certainly blessed of God to have Dr. Ney as such an important part of our team to Ghana."

This year's dental team will see the addition of two assistants to work alongside Doc, Ruth Kandaras and Sandi Ollila, both from Grace Fellowship Church in Mooresville, NC.  While Ruth has worked with GEM on past projects in Romania and the Czech Republic, this will be her first trip to Africa. Sandi, a nurse at Lake Norman Regional Hospital, will be making her first trip with GEM and will be a great addition to our team.

school kidsWhile the dental clinics in the remote villages bring an important humanitarian provision to the people in these areas, the primary purpose of this, and all GEM projects, is evangelism.  If this project is akin to past ministry in Ghana we will have the opportunity to clearly present the gospel to nearly 40,000 individuals through a variety of venues.  We will be in school assembly programs, film crusades, village meetings, house-to-house ministry, and the dental clinics.

A typical ministry in Ghana has resulted in tens of thousands of individuals indicating their decision to receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.  We are praying for God's blessings upon everything we do before, during, and following this project.  We trust you will make this a matter of prayer also!
Bible Distribution BIBLES
URGENTLY NEEDED
FOR GHANA

One of the greatest on-going needs GEM faces is that of funds for the purchase of Bibles in Ghana.  In the picture to the right, ministry partner
Jeff Andler is presenting several cases of Bibles to the principle of a large school in Ghana.  During each trip we distribute an incredible number of bibles to those who otherwise have no access to the written Word of God.

Each project to Ghana requires 15,000 New Testaments plus additional Bibles and teaching materials for pastors, teachers, and Church leaders.  The financial cost of this portion of the project is $4,500 ($9,000 annually).

followupThis picture of four new brothers shining a flashlight on the scripture portion provided by our financial supporters has always been a source of encouragement to GEM.

Field Associate Mark Chase of Asheville remarked, "The light that shines in the darkness has never been so clear to me as when I witnessed these men straining in the dark to read the Word of God!  We must always give them Bibles!"  The response of the dear people of Ghana is that of incredible gratitude for the gift of God's written Word.  What is a relatively small investment from you ($25 for a case of 100 Bibles) has an unknown impact on so many people.

 PASTORS STILL LACKING SUPPORT
Ghana Pastors
These men are the backbone of our ministry in Ghana!

[First printed December 2008]One of the greatest needs of Global Evangelism Ministries is the monthly financial support of our local pastors in Ghana.  The group of men pictured here are our "hands and feet" on the ground in Ghana.

Each of these men serve as a local pastor and/or church planter in remote and previously unreached project areas.  In other words, whenever GEM conducts a ministry project in an area of the country where there is no viable local church, we leave a man there to begin bible studies, worship services, and eventually a church.

The work these men do is remarkable!  Each of them travel from their home town, deep into the bush, to provide the foundational leadership to the newly born communities of faith in the villages.  The total financial support for these men is the monthly responsibility of Global Evangelism Ministries.  Presently we have 2009 funding promised for five of these pastors but we still are in need of funding for the remaining seven.  The monthly support for each of these pastors is $50.  Therefore, to meet our 2009 obligations for pastor support, the need is $4,200 for remaining pastors (7 pastors X $50 X 12 months).

One of our 2008 support churches has notified us that they will not be able to provide funds for 2009.  While this was an unanticipated blow, we are certain that God will provide for these dear men of God by His own hand.  Perhaps God wants to use you to provide support for one or more of these men.

If you are able to provide support for one or more of these servants, please click here and you will be directed to our website where you can give online.  Once on that page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "PayPal Donate" button and follow the instructions.

It is difficult to put into words the labor of these men.  Their love for the Lord and their commitment to seeing the new Christians grow into mature followers of Christ is overwhelming.  We are praying for God to do a supernatural work in the hearts of our readers.  Please join us in asking God to continue to meet these needs!
Meet TEAM GHANA
Dr. MasonAs already mentioned in this publication we have both veteran and first-time members joining us on our project to Ghana this year.  I believe this year's team has been divinely comprised to accomplish God's will for this March project.

Perhaps you do not realize the importance of have a team that functions well together.  There is little that make a project more difficult than that of having a team that is motivated or manipulated by something other than the Lord Jesus Christ.  I have too often been on teams with members like this.  This team, however will face no such compromise.  From all indications this team will be marked by two words Commission and Commitment!  I trust you will join me in praying for this year's team.  Joining me on the project will be ...

Rev. Jeff Andler
Mr. Craig Barker
Rev. Mark Chase
Mrs. Ruth Kandaras
Dr. David Ney
Mrs. Sandi Ollila
