With ground-breaking exhibitions during Art Basel, a retrospective holiday music concert, award winning theater productions, and student choreographic premieres, New World School of the Arts maintains its promise to the South Florida community - to support and nurture the artistic talent of its younger members - as we lead them from students to professional artists. You too play an integral role in the artistic development of our students. It is through your attendance to these wonderful events that your commitment is demonstrated. We invite you and look forward to sharing a magnificent holiday season with you and your loved ones.

HOLIDAY CONCERT RETROSPECTIVE CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF MUSIC

NWSA's Holiday Concert, a favorite during the festive season, is designed this year to celebrate New World School of the Arts' 25th anniversary. With a varied music selection, the show will present a collection of pieces from across the 16 years that Director of Vocal Music, Albert Clark, has been teaching at NWSA.  A few, such as Mack Wilberg's outstanding arrangement of the traditional English Carol "I Saw Three Ships," are brand new; others, like Kenneth Hodgson's "Shalom Chaverim," date back to the Director's first year on the faculty of New World School of the Arts.  The music on the program runs the gamut from the beautiful "Esurientes" by John Rutter-with a stunning soprano solo by senior, Frances Collins- to Vince Guraldi's "Christmas Time Is Here," made famous in the TV special "A Charlie Brown Christmas." The NWSA High School Concert Choir will be joined by the Southwood Middle School Concert Choir under the direction of Deborah Mar.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS OFFERS A HEFTY DOSE OF LAUGHTER

The hilarious Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a witty battle of cons, continues the celebration of NWSA's 25th anniversary. Directed by NWSA faculty member Matthew Glass, the show features a cast of thirty-four high school juniors and seniors joined by the NWSA 15-piece orchestra.  Hailed by Glass as "an exciting and wonderfully funny example of American Musical Comedy at its best," the show, based on the popular 1988 film, centers on two con men living on the French Riviera who come to the realization that, when it comes to settling unfinished business, the town just isn't big enough for the two of them. "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is not overtly serious or pretentious, a little bawdy and often touching."

ONE-PERSON SHOWS HIGHLIGHT THE THEATRICAL GENIUS OF BFA CANDIDATES

Fourteen graduating seniors from the college theater program present One-Person Shows as their BFA Senior Project, writing, acting and producing their own 20-30 minute monologue. Among the pieces to be premiered is Mary Sunshine by Ashley Chang: A girl who is too smart for her own good yet seeks approval on a daily basis. Her self-doubt leads into her tragic flaw of being her own worst enemy. COCKROACH CONFESSIONS by Armando Diaz: A needle, a crucifix or a joint. Different methods for the same result... The fate of those left behind. Lauren Tepper's Love Spell: Snow White has taken a new spin on her career. You got questions? She has answers! Find out on the "S" Chat! Ryan Jacobs's Boy Of Wonder: Life in the Big Top is the only life that David Swift has known. Performing has been his life, but he craves something more. Home is Where the Corazon Is by Alma Rose Hoyos: 'I'm going back to Cuba for the first time! Ay! Pa' Cuba voy!'
