BFA DANCE CONCERT EXPLORES THE DEPTHS
OF HUMAN EMOTION
One of the most anticipated performances of the college year, the College BFA Dance Concert marks the most comprehensive and final project delivered by NWSA's dance aspiring graduates. This year's concert consists of sixteen pieces choreographed and performed by the twenty-two graduating college students. The show was influenced by and produced on a theme of transformation. Works range from pedestrian creations exploring how individuals warp their sense of being to fit in, to human beings transformed into bouncing balls. Living, learning, and growing are all about change whether it is a dramatic physical change, a change in perception, or simply quitting a habit where the results can be just as varied

SWAY, A REVIVAL OF 1920'S, SETS THE STAGE FOR THE ANNUAL FASHION SHOW & LUNCHEON
New World School of the Arts once again presents its popular Fashion Show & Luncheon, this year paying tribute to the roaring 20's with "Sway" a revival of 1920's style in today's fashion. Directed and choreographed by Cynthia DuFault, "Sway" showcases how past trends of the 1920's have influenced designers today whether in full force or with mere echoes of the look. Unlike any other year, international fashion designers, Laura Reyes (Mexico), Harmeet Kauhr (India), and Susan Goerne (Mexico) as well as accessory designer Akiko Yashuda (Tokyo) and jewelry designer Cynthia DuFault (Canada) have all collaborated together to design specifically for this year's fashion show. The designs will be modeled and placed in the silent auction with partial proceeds going to support NWSA, Dance Division.

HIGHLIGHTS THE STRUGGLES OF IMMIGRANT WOMEN
NWSA celebrates women with a powerful exhibition that brings human rights to the forefront of our reality. Created by one of its graduating visual artists, Women: Inspiring Journeys explores the harsh realities of many women who enter the United States to find employment, only to be exploited by false pretenses and distorted promises. Through her significant black and white photographs, Zonia Zena, photography major from the NWSA College program, captures the struggles, anxiety, dreams, and achievements of ten immigrant women as they embark on their search for freedom and justice. "It's a story of relentless strength and hope" said the artist.
