NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS WELCOMES NEW INTERIM PROVOST
NWSA has enjoyed remarkable growth and financial stability, despite the challenging economic conditions, due to the impeccable leadership of Provost Dr. Mercedes A. Quiroga. However, she has now proudly accepted the role of President for Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus.  Jeffrey Hodgson, DMA, former Dean of the NWSA Music Division has been selected to head New World School of the Arts.

As Interim Provost and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Hodgson will be responsible for all fiscal and operational aspects of the school including administration and artistic leadership of the college and high school programs in dance, music, theater and visual arts. Dr. Hodgson first joined NWSA as a piano professor in 1999 and quickly rose to the position of Dean of Music in 2002, a post he held until this summer. Jeffrey earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford), a Master of Music degree from the University of Florida and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami.

Mr. Jim Gasior has also accepted the position of Dean of the Music Division at NWSA. A veteran faculty member and musician, Gasior led the New World School of the Arts Jazz Ensemble to national success, recently winning the Jazz at Lincoln Center Essentially Ellington Competition.

Please join us as we congratulate Dr. Quiroga, Dr. Hodgson and Mr. Gasior, wishing them much success in their new endeavors.

Fred CondeWARM GREETINGS FROM PRINCIPAL FREDERIC CONDE
Welcome to a wonderful and prosperous new school year.  A year filled with rich traditions, new initiatives and both new and seasoned personnel dedicated to the success of New World.  Andrew Carnegie once said..."Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision." New World School of the Arts provides us with that common vision and my motto for the 2009-2010 school year "We are in this together" cements our commitment to teamwork.

NWSA FACULTY EAGER TO BEGIN A NEW SEASON
After a much deserved summer hiatus, the NWSA arts faculty welcomes the 2009-2010 academic season with the commitment and enthusiasm that characterizes our dedicated group of educators. Accomplished working professionals in their field, NWSA instructors continually nurture students while offering exceptional training and insight to help them find and value their own artistic voices.
