RIVETING STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY CONCERT AT NWSA
Seven new works choreographed and danced by college students of the New World School of the Arts Dance Division, will be presented to the public in a unique Student Choreography Concert.
"Seeing new choreographic voices uncovers the imagination. With a mixture of movement, ideas, humor and drama, the audience will travel through a journey of pure satisfaction and beautiful dancing, undoubtedly feeling the energy of these seven young choreographers" stated Dale Andree, NWSA dance faculty and director of the choreographic works. Among the works to be performed by the company are Walking Into by Ericalynn Priolo, Endless Silence by Michael Fernandez, Side Effects by Benjamin Figueroa, Bugs by Kaitlin Bishop, Irreversible by Yu-Mien Wu, Outro by Michael-John Harper, and Once More, Once Again by Sarah Matry-Guerre

"THE NUTCRACKER"
A HOLIDAY FAVORITE
NOT TO BE MISSED
For more than five years, the New World School of the Arts and the Thomas Armour Youth Ballet have meshed dancers and efforts to present a full length production of holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Auditions are held in August with rehearsals beginning in September. For the next 12 weeks over 160 dancers are rehearsed simultaneously in four studios of NWSA and the Thomas Armour Youth Ballet.
This year, guest stars from the Pennsylvania Ballet are Riolama Lorenzo (a Miami native) and Sergio Torrado. This is one of the most diverse productions of the Nutcracker in the country, representing the ethnic depth of our community. Saturday, December 6, 7:00 PM

 SAVE THE DATE! 2009 RISING STARS SHOWCASE
On Friday, March 27, NWSA will showcase the talent of its high school and college students in both the performing and visual arts. The Rising Stars showcase is a three-part celebration that begins with an exhibition of artworks by NWSA students followed by a performance of dance, music and theater and concludes with an evening gala in celebration of yet another year of academic and artistic excellence.
