DOUBLE BILL OF OPERA PRESENTATION
Pillars
THE PILLARS OF THE COMMUNITY
By Henrik Ibsen

A studio production by NWSA College Junior Acting students  directed by Andrew Noble, The Pillars of the Community explores the dark secrets of a successful and much respected entrepreneur and family man. The expedient course could cost innocent lives, including that of one he holds most dear, but with so much at stake what choice does he have? The growth of capitalism, emancipation of women, and the lure of America are pitted against the intransigence of a piously hypocritical society. Samuel Adamson's translation  offers a new version of this rarely performed gem of a thriller for the centenary of the death of Norway's National playwright, Henrik Ibsen.
