What is the Patient Navigation Program?
Navigating the medical system can be confusing and overwhelming for cancer patients and their loved ones. How do you get a second opinion? Are there interpreters available? Is the billing in order? Will insurance cover necessary treatments? The Patient Navigator is a friendly, experienced, and approachable American Cancer Society staff person who helps patients in your community hospital have a better experience while they are receiving care.
Northern Westchester Hospital in partnership with the American Cancer Society offers Patient Navigators on-site to provide assistance and support for cancer patients and their family members. The ACS Navigators are based in the Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center and help patients from the time of their diagnosis through their treatment and recovery- providing information and assistance in accessing healthcare resources. Essential News: The Rye Arts Center Announces its 9th Annual Painters on Location: A Plein-Air Paint-Out & Live Art Auction, September 26th.
