The Westchester Children's Museum will be a vibrant new learning center that will nurture curiosity, enhance knowledge, and ignite imagination in our children as they explore the history, arts, environment, and cultural diversity of their local and global communities.   The Westchester Children's Museum is in the midst of a dynamic campaign to raise funds to support exhibit and architectural development. The rewards of working from home
by Debbie Miron

After nearly 20 years as a corporate marketing executive, juggling a career, raising a family and volunteering in the community, I made a decision to start a business from home as a means of finding a better balance for my family and me.  Two years ago, I joined Shaklee, and launched an at-home marketing business, enabling me to successfully do it all and then some!  I found that I could run a successful and profitable business from home and still have time to enjoy my family, hobbies and interests.

In light of the current tough economic times, at home businesses are now flourishing, enabling women and mothers a chance to capitalize on new career opportunities while still managing life with children from home.  For anyone looking to supplement the family's income, working from home is an exciting possibility.

Shaklee has enabled me to maximize on marketing and networking skills from my past career and bring them into a new way of doing business.  My own Shaklee business has tripled in the last year resulting in the need to add independent distributors to my organization to help meet the growing demand for these natural health products.   The exciting news?  Shaklee has been creating financial wealth and security for its independent distributors for more than 50 years and continues to thrive in the economic recession.  No market experience or knowledge of the health industry is needed; what sustains the momentous growth potential is the interest in those willing to break into this growing health field, follow a simple business model, all of which results in job security, flexible hours and the ability to have it all--career success and the time to enjoy personal interests and hobbies even in this unstable economic climate.

Shaklee products are not sold in retail stores, nor advertised in the traditional media channels.  Instead, Shaklee distributors share the health benefits of its more than 200 natural products through in-home events or one-on-one meetings, vendor boutiques and fundraisers.  Shaklee's business model, which is trademarked, "social marketing" capitalizes on the increasing number of consumers shopping alternative retail channels, including the internet, whether facebook, Shaklee personal websites or its catalogs.  Shaklee distributors are known for educating their customers, rather than aggressively selling its products.  The products are powerful, safe and effective and many are "dubbed cutting-edge and revolutionary," maintaining exclusivity or patent protected.  The extensive line of natural products includes nutrition, skincare, personal care and organic cleaning products for home and commercial use.  With dozens of patents and trademarks to its credit, along with successfully-executed clinical trials and extensive product testing, Shaklee is industry-recognized as the number one nutritional company in the United States, poised for world dominance as the company has opened doors for distribution to countries around the world.
