Westchester Tax Busters
by Peter Hull

Looking to tighten your spending, educate yourself on your budget, or find some extra dollars you might be able to better utilize for your family?  Consider the following:

-- Real estate values have declined across the board in Westchester.

-- More than 50% of Westchester homes are assessed too high, especially those purchased in the past 4 years.  Find out what your assessment should be.

-- The complicated and arcane formulas used for taxes often leave homeowners intimidated and confused.  We can calculate the true assessment of your property and give you the knowledge of how to get them reduced.

As a realtor and Westchester resident, over the last several months I have seen a need for families to understand their taxes and the process of tax assessment, and have helped many to navigate the process of having their taxes successfully reduced.  I recently launched a web site, Westchestertaxbusters.com, which instructs property owners on how to try and lower their real estate assessment.

We offer a simple, easy to follow guide that explains how your property is assessed and the steps necessary to lower the assessment (referred to as the grievance process) without having to hire a lawyer or tax consultant.

With property values falling across the county and taxes staying high it is a must have e-book written in layman's terms for homeowners seeking to lower their property taxes. The e-book is free along with a free review of the property's likelihood of getting a reduction on its assessed value.

Homeowners have the choice of purchasing either the "comparables package" which gives at least 3 comparable properties needed to contest your assessment, or the "Tax assessor ready package" which is the completed package ready to hand to the town assessor.

During these difficult economic times people realize that if they can't increase their income, they must try and reduce expenses. Reducing fixed costs is almost like a personal bailout and who doesn't want a bailout?
