Grand Opening & Baby Fair at Lawrence Hospital
Baby Fair
To celebrate the opening of our brand new Maternity Center, Lawrence Hospital is hosting a Grand Opening celebration and Baby Fair on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 10:00am - 2:00pm on the front lawn of Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville, New York. The free event is open to the public and will feature a Baby Fair with vendors specializing in baby products and services and activities for the kids. LiteFM radio personality Christine Nagy will be on-site from 11:00am - 1:00pm to provide music, offer giveaways and stir up local interest. The event will also feature LHC clinicians who will dispense nutrition, childbirth and breastfeeding information. And, perhaps most importantly, nurses will provide guided tours of the new Maternity Center. Joshua Waldman, MD, Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Todd Schiffer, MD, Director of Pediatrics at Lawrence Hospital Center will also be on hand to meet and greet visitors. Stop by EssentialMom's booth to do a fun activity or just to say hi! For more information, call 914-787-5004.
Maternity Care
Lawrence Hospital Center is proud to announce the construction of a new Maternity Center. The Maternity Center features 23 private rooms each with their own shower and flat screen TV. Plus, the maternity wing is designed to resemble a home away from home for families. There are relaxing colors, all new furnishings along with soft lighting and access to the Internet. The new space will also include our Level I Nursery. The Level II Nursery for babies with special needs or who are premature will remain on the 4th floor. It is staffed by neonatologists from New York Presbyterian/Cornell Weill so babies receive the same expert care that is provided in city hospitals. Lawrence Hospital Center's Labor and Delivery department has won a 5-star rating, the highest, from a leader in independent healthcare ratings. We have earned that prestigious ranking by delivering nearly 2,000 babies each year. In addition to giving extraordinary care to mothers with normal pregnancies, we also provide advanced medical expertise for at-risk mothers and babies. Our services also include pre-natal testing. Because childbirth engages the entire family, Lawrence offers educational programs for both parents and siblings. These classes will give you the information you need to make the best decisions about your childbirth experience. Our accomplished and compassionate staff is committed to supporting you and your family from conception to birth. Come and see firsthand our redesigned Maternity Center. We invite you to take a tour of this comfortable and contemporary space in anticipation of your special delivery. To sign up for a tour, call 914-787-4970 or show up at the Baby Fair!

Last Chance!
The kids are back in school, day care, playgroups...or whatever sanity your life stage allows for...finally...and life is starting to shape up again in some sort of routine. You have just begun to breathe again, until you find that stack of paper work under the library books, book bags, and left over lunch goods on your kitchen counter. You know, the one you 'filed' on that gorgeous day back in August when you promised yourself you'd look through it when you got back from the neighbor's BBQ. The forgotten bills, the junk mail and catalogues aside, you might want to take a peek again. Chances are you'll discover your daughter's best friend's birthday party that you never RSVP'd for, that coupon you saved for back to school shopping, and if you're lucky an invite to a great gathering that you might even be able to find a babysitter for! Time to re-enter your life too.
If you can't find an invite of your own, give this one a glimpse -- Friends of Karen is celebrating their 30th Anniversary in grand Hollywood Style, Saturday, October 18th at the Capitol Theatre. Enjoy cocktails, dinner, dancing, live music and more all for an amazing cause. It's worth the babysitter and hey, you deserve the night out!!!
