Wet Summer Fun!

If you've been lucky enough to have a day off, a weekend of fun, or a reprieve from the wet weather, you've probably found yourself if not near a body of water, certainly yearning for one, or planning to get near one!

My husband loves to swim with our boys and spends most of his time under water making faces at them, diving for items, and having contests -- who can hold their breath the longest, who can do flips, seeing what sort of odd noises one can make...much like a small child would.  Anyway, the boys enjoy it and so does he, so who am I to interrupt if it means even 20 minutes of blissful silence with a good summer read in hand?

But, I digress.  What I really want to tell you about is the best present ever for such a husband.  This year I gave the husband an underwater, waterproof camera and it has been a JOY all year round.  We have taken it skiing (no worries about dropping it in the snow), snorkeling on our Spring break, to the beach, and, as you can see...right into the pool.  It is fairly idiot-proof, child-proof, and takes really fun shots!

If you're headed away for a family jaunt and worried about taking the "good" camera to the beach, yet still covet the pictures of the family in the surf, this is the find of the summer.  Or, if your children think they're little Ansel Adamses, this is a great way to let them free with a camera--  they can't ruin it by getting it wet, it's fairly durable, and easy to use.  Oh, and I forgot to mention, you can take photos AND videos on it!  Great little snippets of life on vacation, without the hassle of carrying the big video camera!

Our brand?  The Olympus Stylus 790 SW, if you're in the market...you can buy it here at Amazon.com

Just throw it in the beach bag and go!
