Fresh Air Fund: Family Hosts Needed NOW!
Share the beauty of Westchester with others less fortunate: Volunteer for The Fresh Air Fund and host an inner-city child.
This summer, join thousands of volunteer host families in 13 Northeastern states and Canada as they open their hearts and homes to New York City children from underprivileged communities through The Fund's Friendly Town program.
The Friendly Town program allows youngsters from New York City to experience simple summer pleasures like skipping rocks across a lake, smelling newly cut grass and making new suburban friends. "It's one of the best experiences my family has had. The child gets something out of it, but the hosts might get even more," says a Fresh Air host mom. A Fresh Air summer vacation can open a child's eyes to the world outside of New York City forever. Volunteer for The Fresh Air Fund and host an inner-city child for 10 days this summer. Host families can choose the age and gender of their visitor. First-time visitors range in age from six to 12 and can be invited back through The Fund until age 18. The Fresh Air Fund provides transportation to and from NYC for the predetermined 10-day trip in August. There are no financial requirements for hosting a Fresh Air child, and host families are not paid. Most hosts simply want to share their homes with inner-city youngsters.
Host families are needed ASAP for the August 8 - 18 trip to our area. While we would not normally still be recruiting hosts, this year we have a lot of kids who are in need of placements, so join up now!!!!
