Empowering Women - Increase Your Financial IQ
Empowering Women is a continuing education group for women who wish to be savvy about money, financial planning, and investments. The group is led by Kathy Boyle, President of Chapin Hill Advisors - a 20 year veteran of the investment business and frequent expert guest on CNBC, Bloomberg, and other TV news shows.
Each month, Empowering Women will cover topics in:
* financial market mechanics-- what's the difference between small and large cap stocks, what's an option, what's an index, and how do I read performance charts
* global, national, and local economic trends-- how will the mortgage crisis impact the US economy, what's happening with the real estate market in Westchester, are we heading into recession and how long will it last
* investment personalities-- personal risk tolerance and aversion, rationality and emotionality, and intra-marital differences in planning and investment styles
* personal planning-- preparing for retirement, responding to job loss, providing for children, giving to charity
* and more!
Members ask questions and Kathy leads a lively discussion of the day's material. Our aim is to cultivate insight and comfort regarding money - however much or little we may have - and to plan and manage our money to best advantage, whether we do it alone, with a partner, or with a professional advisor.
The group is open to women of varying levels of experience. Current members include women in retail, internet publishing, real estate, research, moms, and small business owners. Sound interesting? Join us!
