Support Local Farms and Have Organic Vegetables
Delivered To Your Home

farm shareFarm Share Ltd. has launched its second season connecting Westchester families with local organic family farms.  Farm Share delivers weekly boxes of great local organic produce to over 200 homes in Westchester, helping families taste the harvest through the seasons and supporting local farms.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a unique approach to bringing farms and families together by giving the farmer a commitment from the buyer for the whole season. For the farmer, that means having the resources to buy seed and equipment and the time to do what they love to do - farm! For participants, it means a direct connection to the grower, and a whole season of great food.

A limited number of shares are still available, so it's not too late to join Farm Share's 2008 CSA now and eat better produce this season.

Here's how it works: You sign-up for Farm Share deliveries at www.myfarmshare.com and in June, start to get boxes of organic and naturally grown produce delivered right to your door once a week.  Deliveries continue through the fall. Recipes from local chefs and news from the farm are emailed in the newsletter to members each week.

veggie boxWhat's in a CSA share:  It depends on what is being harvested on the farm each week, but each Share includes up to a half bushel of fresh vegetables per week with many different delicious varieties including outstanding heirloom types not available in stores. Fruit shares are also available.

What does it cost:   A CSA share costs under $30 per week. Payment is made for the full when you sign-up.

Farm Share's delivery model has been proven to be among the most ecologically beneficial in an independent study. That means it is better for the environment to get Farm Share deliveries than to buy at a farmers market or health food store (not that those aren't good too). Excess vegetables are contributed to local food pantries - in 2007 Farm Share donated many bushels of fresh organic vegetables for the hungry in Westchester County.
