I DARE YOU TO SUCCEED!
Welcome to the launch of One a Day Dare Marketing. Many of you have already signed up for the FREE first week of Dares-geared to helping you build a business.
If you are reading this, chances are you already have a business or are contemplating starting one. You are eager for the perks that being an entrepreneur bring...work when you want, do what you want to do (without asking anyone's opinion), and make major money. Ah-h-h, but then the reality sets in... this is lonely, frightening, overwhelming... what was I thinking? The core of your business is the easy part. For example, i.e. if you have a decorating business, the decorating part is easy, a Realtor finds showing houses easy, a salesperson may find the selling easy. The hard part is what leads to getting that decorating job, real estate client, or sales opportunity.
Quite frankly, it is a great deal of work, and many entrepreneurs become overwhelmed with the process, and simply give up. And yet, success is not won by a few big grandstand events, but more by perseverance and diligence. The key to success is to just keep doing something!
The "One a Day Dare" will help you to do exactly that. Follow the map to success, and a plan that allows you to live your life, but still provide your business what it needs to succeed... attention. Simply commit to one day at a time and act upon what you read. Take the time to keep a success journal as you go. Now let's get ready to succeed... I DARE YOU!
DAY ONE- SUCCESS IS PERSONAL One of the meanings of success according to the dictionary is "the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors." I have learned over the years that success is different for all of us.
What is your idea of success? Is it based on money, time, or material gains? After all, how do you know when you have reached the level of "prosperous termination" if you don't know what you are working for? It is kind of like going on a diet. ...how do you know if you have reached your goal, if you didn't pre-determine what that goal is?.
Keep in mind that your idea of success may also change as life changes. After all, if you have a young family, success may mean a business that allows you time to run children to events or coach their baseball team. So don't let anyone else's concept of success, influence you! Be you, be real, be a Success.
TODAY'S DARE: Take 30 minutes to jot down your personal success goal. Base it on number of hours, number of clients and/or dollars. Your goal should be something you can actually track to see if you are achieving the level of success you desire.
This is also the time to determine what drives you, is it money, personal joy, or simply the ability to hone your skills. Be practical and real, yet challenge yourself. In other words, you can't pick 6 figures and only work an hour a week. But if 6 figures is your goal, then set a realistic amount of hours you are willing to work to reach your goal. Are the hours worth the sacrifice of time away from family and friends? No one can make that decision but you.
Compare your new goal to last year's sales. (if applicable) Okay, before you close the book on today's dare...did you challenge yourself or did you take a conservative approach to ensure success. Entrepreneurs are daring.

THE ONE DAY TRIPLE PLAY
STAGE TO SELL
Author: Carol Bass
Selling a house and dwelling in a home are very different. When dwelling, we like to be surrounded by our "creature comforts." The furniture is arranged to focus on what "we" love, like the 50" television. When selling the house, the focus needs to shift to the selling features; after all, you are not selling the TV. So before that lock box goes on the door, look at the house through the eyes of a potential buyer.
ONE - Change your attitude. You may think, "I love my children's pictures, I like my plum walls and my collection of dolls." Shift your attitude from "my home" to "marketing my most valuable asset". Think about getting your most valuable asset ready for its first date. On a first date, you made sure you dressed to impress, added cologne, combed your hair, and did everything you could to put your best foot forward. Getting your house ready is no different; the goal is to have someone "fall in love" with your house. You may find it a bit inconvenient to sell your house but the bottom line is by focusing on the selling features, you will be inconvenienced a shorter period of time
TWO - Check out the competition. What do the other houses in your price range, school district, etc, look like? Go online and see what you are up against. This is a contest and the winner gets the sale. Take a hard look at your walls, floors, windows, and doors. Are they dirty or dated looking?
THREE-You are selling a dream! This house is the answer to the lifestyle and dream of the potential buyer. Are you making it easy for them to visualize their family in your house?
