Meet Lynn Boop, iLEAD School Director!

Lynn has been an educator for 27 years.  She has been a school administrator for over 18 years in both elementary and middle school. Prior to working as an administrator, Lynn taught elementary school.

As an educator, it has always been Lynn's goal to create an environment for children that encourages a love of learning - to make their school experience engaging, relevant and, yes, even fun!

Lynn attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies.  She received her masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision at CSUN.

Lynn lives in Lancaster with her husband, also named Lyn, and her two daughters, Madelyn and Jocelyn. Both Madelyn and Jocelyn are excited to attend iLEAD this fall.

Lynn enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with her friends and family.

Fun Facts about Lynn:

1.  Lynn has visited EVERY continent.
2.  She collects Swatch Watches and owns over 30 of them.
3.  She is a Rolling Stones fan and has attended many concerts.

Lynn's Quote:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

 ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT

"Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage.".

               Victor Kiam

At iLEAD we believe in the potential of kids and the need to inspire entrepreneurship at an early age. We know that given the right influences, kids can become entrepreneurs. At our school we will create an environment that encourages and nurtures entrepreneurship.  As in all of our programs, learners are given opportunities for valuable experiences to  hopefully shape  their futures. These experiences cultivate creativity, innovation and problem solving.  We also give our learners lots of tools and encouragement, which are important parts for a good learning environment.

Entrepreneurship is an essential skill in the 21st century job market.  Entrepreneurship is a multi-disciplinary form of education-it teaches multiple subjects at once. It is not something you do alone. It teaches kids to work together with their team, and also with customers. It helps learners develop collaboration and communication skills. Being an entrepreneur requires many different skills. Therefore even students that are usually classified as "underperforming" can rise to the top.

At iLEAD we focus on entrepreneurial development, not with a "canned" program, but rather through projects and by creating opportunities for our learners to experience:

  • problem solving
  • to lead others
  • to want to make money
  • public speaking
  • to ask questions
  • to learn from mistakes
  • how to sell
  • to never give up
  • to be creative
  • how to save money
  • to ask for help
  • to see solutions

At iLEAD we will create an environment for our students which will help develop the personal characteristics that make people succeed as entrepreneurs:

▪Vision: The successful entrepreneur has a clear and communicable vision of the opportunity his or her business will create or exploit and is completely dedicated to making this vision a reality, even when it means taking risks.

▪Determination: The successful entrepreneur must be completely determined to succeed, even in the face of doubts of  family, close friends and associates. This determination must fuel the tireless effort to make it happen.

▪Motivation: An entrepreneur lets very little get in the way of making the vision into reality.

▪Focus:  The entrepreneur must keep his or her eye on the ball at all times, never allowing precious time, energy and other resources to be distracted from the project.

▪Devotion: Entrepreneurs must be completely devoted to the project, enjoy working on the project and deeply committed to the ideas and beliefs on which the project is founded.

▪Skills: The entrepreneur must have a skill set to either develop the product or service or the skills to take an idea and figure how to make it work.

▪Passion: An entrepreneur must really love what he/she is doing in such a way that it does not appear to be hard work, but rather something they enjoy and want to do.

▪Adaptability: An entrepreneur must be able to adapt personally and ensure that the organization has the ability to adapt to new challenges. Allow people to provide their point of view and identify issues and opportunities.

▪Display Self-awareness : An entrepreneur must be able to recognize their own strengths and weaknesses and hire their missing skills within their team.

▪Creative Thinking: The entrepreneur has to be able to think through the innovative idea and deal with the many variables facing the business - global market, technological change and diverse work force etc.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

The iLEAD Lancaster Founding Team
