WCC Play Begins Saturday for Broncos in San Diego  wcc

The Santa Clara University baseball team begins their 2012 West Coast Conference schedule in San Diego on Saturday, March 24. The Broncos play a three game series against University of San Diego at Cunningham Stadium.

The Toreros (15-5) were picked by the WCC coaches to finish first in the conference and had a strong preseason with wins over Oregon State, Cal Poly, and Vanderbilt.

Biancardi Benefits From Coaching Change

Andrew Biancardi's baseball career left the fast lane and exited on a slow road to nowhere two years ago. It was the life of a starter turned bench-warmer. Sure, he was getting his education paid for by Santa Clara University, but on the school's baseball diamond he was watching grains of sand slide through an hourglass.

A lifelong ballplayer, Biancardi first endeared himself with Santa Cruz County as a starting infielder for the Aptos All-Stars team that qualified to the Little League World Series in 2002, and later as a three-year starting third baseman on Aptos High's nationally ranked and record-setting team.
