Hello from Christ Church Westshore -
What a wonderful experience we had at the evening service on Ash Wednesday when we joined with the Bay Pres congregation for worship and communion. The service combined elements of the BPC worship style with Anglican liturgy, as we came together to enter into Lent. We will have additional joint worship opportunities during Holy Week that you won't want to miss.
It was especially heart-warming during the exchange of the Peace when the Bay Pres member sitting next to me said (before I could thank her for BPC's generosity to us), "We are so glad you are here with us." Christ Church is truly blessed to have such friends!
BPC Associate Tom Madden gave the sermon and talked about Lent being a time to add something to our life that will draw us closer to our Lord, such as time spent in reading Holy Scripture or commentaries, or in prayer. Lent is often looked on as a time of denial, but it can be a time of enrichment as well. This echoes the approach that Gene has taken, encouraging us to pray at least part of the Daily Office, if not daily, then several times during the week. Christ Church is not offering formal observances of Morning, Noontime, and Evening Prayer as we did in previous years, but the Book of Common Prayer contains these services and resources are available on-line as well. After all, what will better prepare your heart for the observance of Christ's sacrificial death and glorious resurrection: giving up potato chips or reading God's Word!
Blessings!

TableTalk
TableTalk is on hiatus this week, as Gene had to concentrate on making pancakes Tuesday night for his family (the kids have very high pancake expectations!), preparing for the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes Clericus (clergy meeting) on Thursday, and polishing his sermon for Sunday.

Children's Ministry Exciting things are happening in Children's Ministry! The Finance Committee approved the purchase of partitions for the Children's Area at Bay High School on Sundays. They are 48" tall and more solid than the curtains we have been using. The children will be safe, secure, and separated into 3 areas: Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers. Each Sunday the children will be taught a simple Bible lesson, do a craft, sing a song, have a snack, and have structured playtime. Parents are encouraged to pick up their children from the Children's Area before communion, so that the Nursery workers and volunteers can join the congregation for worship and communion. Thanks to all the parents for your patience, encouragement, and understanding as we walk through this transition together. Opportunities in Children's Ministry As we continue our adjustment to Bay High, and welcome more families with preschoolers, toddlers and babies, we have an increased need for volunteers during both 9 a.m. Discipleship Hour and the 10 a.m. worship service. We need everything from "Grandmas" to snuggle, rock, read, and feed the babies, to BibleSong leaders, and Children's Chapel assistants. Please prayerfully consider where you may help in this vital and growing ministry. Many helpers increase the joy and lighten the load! Talk with Katherine Edman is you feel called to help with the children.

The Bay Directory
The Bay Directory is underway!
As you know, we have published the Bay Village Directory every two years for 60 years as a service to our community and as a fundraiser for the church. We retained the right to continue publication the the Directory and it is eagerly anticipated by all of Bay Village. The initial mailing has gone out to the community so that residents can confirm their inclusion in the 2012-2013 edition and the responses have already started to come in.
A key part of the fundraising is the advertising, not just by Bay Village businesses, but also those in surrounding communities. We need volunteers who are enthusiastic and energetic and willing to be part of this vital step of soliciting advertisers for the Directory.
Please talk with Mike Johnston or Linda Jackson if you would like to be part of the advertising team. This is a crucial year for the Directory and all assistance will be gratefully welcomed!
Malley's Candy
Easter Fundraiser
Carroll Middlemiss has generously offered to piggy-back Christ Church in the Malley's candy fundraiser that Little Learner's runs every spring. The benefit proceeds of the purchases by Christ Church members will come to Christ Church.
Carroll will be at a table in "Grand Narthex" this Sunday and Sunday, March 4, with order forms. We will also have order forms in the church office.
Please put on your "Easter Bunny' thinking cap and start to plan your Easter baskets now to take advantage of this opportunity.
Thanks, Miss Carroll and Little Learner's
for letting us join the fun and fundraising!

| Go! Make Disciples, Follow Christ!
Christ Church members live this statement every day, both personally and in caring for and assisting others, especially those among us who are studying for the ministry or in preparation for active discipleship and evangelistic roles.
You can help with a special gift to support members of our congregation in these endeavors. We currently have three opportunities for support.
The Seminarian Fund - A special fund for those who are attending seminary or pursuing theological degrees. Kevin Krumenauer is currently studying at Ashland Theological Seminary, pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies in preparation for ordination.
Missionary Support - Kelsey Johnston will attend the International Academy of Apologetics, Evangelism and Human Rights in Strasbourg, France, this summer. John Malone will attend a summer session at the YWAM Discipleship Training School.
Please consider a gift to support Kevin, Kelsey, and John as they pursue their studies this year.
