Greetings!
Please join us this Sunday as we welcome The Right Rev. Jwan Zhumbes, from the Diocese of Bukura in Jos, Nigeria.
Also, mark your calendars for the Christ Church Westshore (First) Annual Meeting on January 29, 2012. The annual meeting will start at 9:00 a.m., and be held in place of the Discipleship Groups. It will be exciting as Gene lays out the vision for our future! You won't want to miss this meeting!

Now that we're entering the 3rd week of Epiphany and we've packed all of the Christmas decorations away till next year - we resume the regular rhythm of our daily lives. With all of the changes that we at Christ Church have endured over the past few months, I find a great comfort in knowing that "God with Us" is truly applicable in our transition.
With that thought in mind, I invite you participate in one of our various Community Life Groups (CLG) that exist here at Christ Church. You can find one by picking up the flyer this Sunday at the information table, or by going to our website. Speaking of our website, I would also encourage you on a regular basis to visit our website and see the various informational postings, links, and articles that are listed. So many questions are answered simply by going to our website and finding the information you are looking for right there! While there, I recommend that you to check out my new blog: http://gshermanblog.wordpress.com. I place a posting on the blog of interest to all of the Christ Church community at least 3 times a week. We also have the Christ Church Facebook page, and you can follow me on Twitter as well!
I mention the use of technology because since our move these various forms of information and communication are increasingly vital as we move forward in mission in 2012! This is an exciting year for us all and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on any aspect of our corporate lives together.
This weekend, our favorite Nigerian Bishop, Rt. Rev. Jwan Zhumbes from the Diocese of Bukuru, will be with us. He will be speaking to us as we continue our "People of God" series, with this Sunday focusing on the ministry promises that we make in our Membership Covenant! Come hear this "Tag Team" message that Bishop Zhumbes and I will give to encourage you to follow Christ in a most fulfilling way!
In closing, our 1st Christ Church Annual meeting will be held on Jan 29th at 9 am in the Auditorium at Bay High School. Discipleship Hour will be suspended for the day as you hear my "The State of Christ Church Address", and from the Sr. Warden, Nancy Sabath and the Jr. Warden, Bob Middlemiss. Rob Zawtocki, the Treasurer, will present the 2012 Christ Church Budget. We also will elect seven new Vestry members from a field of eight candidates. Therefore, your attendance is vital to the health of our leadership. Please come and let your voice be heard as we enter 2012 in a healthy manner.

Whether Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, or weekday mornings - there is something for everyone. It's not too late to get involved for the winter sessions!

Knickerbocker Sweet Treats Night
Tuesday January 24th 6:30 pm
Join the fun before the Tuesday night service at the Knickerbocker Apartments as we provide cookies, brownies, cakes, pies, etc. and share fellowship with the residents. They are always so thrilled with the treats and the conversation.
If you would like to donate treats, please sign the the sheet in the Grand Narthex at Bay High School on Sunday morning or call Marie Tench (440-653-9501). If you would like to provide treats, but cannot be at the Knickerbocker, call Marie and she will make arrangements to pick up your treats.

Sanctity of Life Sunday
January 22nd
Cornerstone Among Women, a crisis pregnancy center, starts their annual Baby Bottle Campaign this Sunday. Pick up a baby bottle and drop your loose change into it for the next month. Return the filled bottles on Sunday, February 19th to support the important work of Cornerstone as they provide support, resources and counseling to save the lives of unborn children.
