New Semester Offers Great Opportunities
Dear Colleagues,
As the semester opens, colleges nationwide are busy welcoming new classes of students to their campuses. SEED has been busy preparing activities to help build your college's clean economy and sustainability programs, such as monthly webinars, workshops at AASHE and AACC's Workforce Development Institute, and toolkits.
As part of an expanding national effort to support sustainability practices, programs, and training at the nation's almost 1,200 community colleges, five exemplary community colleges will be presented Green Genome Awards at a national summit hosted next month at Gateway Technical College in Racine, Wisconsin, where I am president.
Accompanying these awards will be the release of a comprehensive Green Genome Report and college self-assessment tool that will be useful to all colleges, regardless of where your institution currently is with sustainability and clean economy programs. We are excited to share this report with you next month.
SEED will continue to expand its popular webinar series featuring college, industry, and governmental experts with regular webinars throughout the fall and winter. Don't miss the upcoming Employer Partnerships webinar on September 27.
Sincerely,
Bryan Albrecht
Chair, AACC Sustainability Task Force
President, Gateway Technical College
