Don't Miss, Green Genome Awards, Deadline 6/22
Colleges Earn Recognition & $75,000 in Awards
Colleagues, I hope you are busy working on your Green Genome Awards application, which is due June 22. Offered by SEED and AACC, these exciting new awards recognize outstanding colleges in four institutional competency areas: community engagement, governance, program design and delivery, and strategic partnerships. Five winners will receive $8,000 each plus a set of Bahco brand Snap-on tools and horticulture equipment (value $6,500). Winning colleges will be showcased on the SEED Center, at AACC events, and through AACC publications and media channels.
We all know how much dedication, effort, and skill are needed for community colleges to realize a strategic and integrated approach to green growth, talent development, and sustainability. I encourage you to apply for these awards so your college can receive deserved attention that validates your efforts, and help attract an excited and engaged student and professional population to your college.
The ultimate goal of SEED's Green Genome project is to ensure that thinking green becomes part of the DNA of the institution. Many colleges have or are on their way to great achievements in these areas. I look forward to learning more about the winning colleges and programs, to be announced this fall. Learn more and apply now.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jerry Weber
