bellissima veniceBellissima Venice by Michel Setboun

Venice, with her winding canals and magnificent palaces, has enchanted artists, poets, aristocrats, and visitors for centuries. From the Piazza San Marco to San Giorgio Maggiore, from the Rialto Bridge to the Bridge of Sighs, from the Grand Canal to snaking water alleyways, Michel Setboun's exquisite images distill the essence of Venice's serenely seductive beauty.  Bellissima Venice includes a sturdy presentation box.

Author Michel Setboun has worked as a photographer since 1978 and traveled around the world as a reporter. His work has been published in numerous international journals such as the New York Times, Geo, Life, Paris Match, Stern, and Le Figaro.

Villas of Tuscanyvillas of tuscany

Photographs by Massimo Listri, text by Carlo Cresti

now $29.99

Europe north of the Alps knew virtually nothing of fine living until Charles VIII of France and his army invaded Italy in the late 15th century. There, in the palaces and villas of Tuscany, the French discovered luxury on a scale beyond anything imagined in the medieval stone castles of the Loire Valley. Even today these villas remain among the wonders of the civilized world, with their architecture conceived by such renowned masters as Sangallo, Buontalenti, and Peruzzi, their interiors radiant with trompe-l'oeil frescoes attributed to the likes of Pontormo, Allori, and Il Volterrano, and their lush garden settings replete with fountains, grottoes, statuary, and breathtaking vistas.

Lavishly illustrated with more than 300 color photographs, Villas of Tuscany brings together 40 superb examples ranging in date from the Middle Ages to the late 19th century. Each is captured with all its aristocratic trappings: towers, peach-color stucco walls, and red-tiled roofs; dovecotes, courtyards, and loggias; nobly proportioned salons with sumptuous furnishings; and panoramic views over the Tuscan landscape, a sun-drenched world of rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards, and tall cypresses. The text, by Florentine scholar Carlo Cresti, is richly informative.

What Chefs Feed Their Kids by Fanae Aaron

what chefs feed their kids

How chefs make food an adventure for their kids - and you can, too!

Features recipes from Ana Sortun of Oleana in Cambridge.

How do the people who know the most about food tackle the special challenges of cooking for children's palates? How do they get their children to join them at the dinner table when most kids would rather play under the tablecloth? Why do some kids love to eat broccoli, sushi, or pesto while others insist on chicken nuggets every night?

A lifelong foodie and a first-time mother, Fanae Aaron had lots of questions about how to teach her son to enjoy a variety of fresh, whole foods. So she sought out a diverse group of twenty award-winning chefs who are also parents. The book's first-class lineup includes: Eric Bromberg, Marc Murphy, Zack Gross, Ana Sortun, Piero Selvaggio, and Floyd Cardoz. These chefs stimulate their kids' curiosity about new foods by engaging them in the process without coercing them, and they share their tips and stories, which provide an intimate glimpse into the chefs' family lives.

Chefs' strategies include allowing their kids to help prepare meals, taking them to farmers' markets, and giving them choices with healthy family style meals. What Chefs Feed Their Kids also features seventy-five flavorful recipes - such as Kale and Scrambed Eggs, Baby Lamb Chops, Nori Chips, and Risotto with Pumpkin, Ginger, and Sage - from a variety of cuisines.
