Being obsessed with colour (as we are here of course), the obvious question for us is about the Olympic flag which has a white background, with five interlaced rings in the centre: blue, yellow, black, green and red. According to its creator, Pierre De Coubertin (1914), this design is of course symbolic. The rings represent the five inhabited continents of the world, united by Olympism, while the six colors are those that appear on all the national flags of the world at the present time.

Volume 3, 2012
Dear ,

Olympic Fever has well and truly invaded the UK. As the torch takes its final steps around the country, the team in Amesbury has been very excited since it is actually passed by our facilities yesterday.

The arrival of the Olympics also indicates the end of 'show time' for the Lovibond® team as we wrap up ACHEMA and put our demo units away for the summer. If you didn't manage to catch up with us at one of the Spring/Summer events, we are sure they'll be plenty more opportunities during the Autumn/Fall months.

Meanwhile we wish you all a very enjoyable summer (or winter for our friends in the Southern Hemisphere). If the sun ever graces us with its presence in England, we too will fire up the barbeque and join in the fun.

The Editor
Lovibond® Cuvettes and Cells

What many do not realize is that the Lovibond® glass which makes up our colour standards and water test discs is still made right here at our facilities in the UK.

What is more, the Lovibond® factory is still producing the optical cells / cuvettes that are being used throughout the world in all types of spectro-photometers, fluorimeters, absorptiometers and colorimeters.

By producing our own cells, we can ensure the high level of quality expected of the Lovibond® brand and guarantee that each cell delivers on the following features:

- Precision Technology
- Heat Fused - Durable and Strong
- Suitable for Heated Samples
- Bevelled Edging - Easy Placement
- Blemish Free
