Love Reigns Eternal

The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton

A Note from Jo:

Jo with the Royal couple

Well, have you all recovered from the wedding yet?  Or, are you all like me and still can't get enough of the happy couple?  I think I'm suffering from post-wedding blues as I'm missing my Will & Kate fix!

Wasn't it just the most spectacular, awesome, inspiring, patriotic and most importantly ROMANTIC wedding that we have ever seen as far as the Royals go? Kate was so beautiful and really knew how to blend the traditional with a modern twist in all her wedding plans...the Groom so dapper in his red uniform. Even the bridesmaids commanded our attention...both the glamorous and the grumpy!

I'm sure it will not surprise you all to learn that our own wedding event in celebration of the Royals went off without a hitch.  More than 200 well dressed guests arrived for our day-long festivities and all were treated to rebroadcasts of the wedding, (I watched it eight times that day!). Other treats included a royal pavillion complete with bridal gowns, wedding cake and a replica of The Ring, gift bags filled with souvenirs and a commemorative program of the day. Oh, and not to forget the food; cucumber sandwiches, scones, tea and wedding cake made especially for us by Fleur De Lis Unforgettable Cakes in Phoenix.

Our 'little' event was covered by five TV stations, radio, newspapers and magazines. Even the USA Today picked up the story. It's safe to say the Brit in Carefree did her country proud!

We have included links to photos and news coverage in this newsletter so you can see all the pomp and pageantry.

What a wonderful day, one that I will remember the rest of my life.

Happy Mother's Day

Flowers

Just a note to wish all our Moms and Mums a wonderful Mother's Day.  In England we celebrated Mother's Day in April, but it's lovely to have a chance to say it twice in one year.

For my Mum: Happy Mother's Day and I love you. xx

4 Things Americans Now Know About the Brits

Tea Towel

1. The Tea Towel

A piece of material, usually made from Irish linen, printed with nostalgic images or pictures....we use it to dry up the dishes!

 Fascinator

2. The Fascinator

A small hat attached to the side of the head with a hair band or elastic...usually adorned with feathers and worn by 50% of the female guests at the Royal Wedding.

Will3. The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge

NOT the Duch and Duchess as some newscasters would have you believe.  This is the newly appointed title given to William and Kate by the Queen, although rumor has it at the wedding reception William introduced Kate to his guests as Mrs. Wales, don't you love 'im!

 Beatrice & Eugenie

4. Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugene

They have no taste.  Enough said.

The Perfect Tea for Summer Brides

Wedding TeaAre you hosting a Bridal Shower this summer? This is a wonderful tea to serve.

Wedding Tea by Harney & Sons is a blend of white tea, with rosebuds and vanilla.

A really delicate taste and perfect with Afternoon Tea.
