River City Security,
based in Jacksonville, provides contract security for commercial, industrial and residential sites throughout the region, including Ocala. River City's licensed security officers are also trained in CPR, First Aid, what to do in emergencies, and how to offer assistance when needed.
In May, River City Security was awarded the security contract with Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control. The new contract, which began July 1, required successful job candidates to hold a Florida Class D security license, minimum of one year experience and ability to obtain security clearance.
Workforce Connection referred qualified candidates and provided space and staff support to process applications, interview candidates and conduct new-hire orientations.
"The staff at Workforce Connection has been so nice and has never told me no when we needed space for interviews and orientation," said Sheila Dalton, River City Security's Human Resources director. In addition to screening/referring applicants, Workforce Connection scanned documents and forwarded to Dalton in Jacksonville for review and telephone interviews.
"This relationship is fantastic and I only wish I had the same courtesy given to me in other part of Florida," Dalton said. "I would recommend Workforce Connection to other companies."
